Summer
Mountains, sun and you
In summer, fantastic temperatures and ideal conditions will perfect your mountain experience in Kauns and indeed across the entire Tyrolean Oberland. Fantastic Alpine pasture farms and huts invite you to stop for a bite to eat, offering rest and respite to hikers and biking enthusiasts complete with hearty culinary delights and unique views.
What’s more, the region itself offers countless leisure activities, sporting challenges and interesting cultural events. But find out for yourself.
Autumn
Autumn enchantment and the first forays onto the slopes
There is plenty to discover in Tirol in autumn: wonderful hiking trails , bike trails, traditional festivals , such as the ceremonial driving down of cattle from the mountain pastures into the valley and the harvest festival, farmers’ markets, and the first skiing experiences on the Kaunertal glacier, where snow is guaranteed. If the weather has other ideas, there are also countless indoor options for enjoying your time here to the full. One of these is the Quellalpin Kaunertal in Feichten, which has a swimming pool, sauna area, gym, climbing wall, skittle alley and much more.
The region also has an abundant cultural offering. The Kaunergrat Nature Park House, which is located near Apart Bieles, houses the multimedia exhibition ‘3000m VERTICAL’, which you can enjoy all year round. You can also visit the Kaunertal Museum, the Fließ Archaeological Museum and the Serfauser Lauser Museum in Serfaus to find out all about what rural life used to be like.
Winter
Perfect slopes and powder snow
Thanks to its central location in the Tyrolean Oberland, Kauns is the ideal starting point for all sorts of winter sports adventures. This includes top ski resorts: the Kaunertal glacier, the family ski resort of Winterberg Fendels, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Nauders, Venet and Ischgl-Samnaun. In addition to perfectly groomed slopes, events like the Kaunertal Opening and the Spring Classics draw snow enthusiasts to Tirol every year.
However, our region also offers endless possibilities for fun away from the slopes: winter hiking and cross-country skiing in the nature park, ice climbing, tobogganing and a wide range of cultural activities, as well as opportunities to revel in pure relaxation. Your winter holiday will be anything but boring!
